Christmas Movies...

It's in the singing of a street corner choir, It's going home and getting warm by the fire, It's true where ever you find love, it feels like Christmas! Having an amazing night watching Christmas movies; The Grinch, Polar Express, Frosty the Snowman, and last but not least, we ended it with 'Muppets Christmas Carol'. So much fun just sitting here watching Christmas movies, and singing along to all the songs because you've heard them a million times. Watching the boys wrestle on the floor between songs.  It's all so great! I can hardly believe that tomorrow is Christmas Eve!!!  Christmas came so fast this year!  I hope tomorrow is great, and everyone is happy! Have a great evening!!! My Adventure, all wrapped up:-)

So sorry to my readers!  I kinda left you hanging with the last post:-) My mom and I did finaly make it to Florida to pick up my brother:-) lets see... last thing I posted was... left the car dealership... liecense problems... hotel... Ahh yes, Hotel.   My mom and I stopped at a Hotel, and got about 4 hours of much needed sleep. We got up at 4 am the next morning and loaded the car up to get back on the road and finish the last 3 hours of our trip. When we got out to our van, we saw the side door was open!  Somehow the night before, either my mom, or I had pressed the button on the keys that openes the door, instead of pressing the lock button. So our side door was open all night! Thankfuly God was watching over our van, and no one stole anything, and my moms computer was sitting on the floor by the door! whew! that could have been bad!  So my  mom and I got back on the road, I went back to sleep, and mom drove.  We were a little behind because we went through Mobile Alabama right a

Keep Smiling and Thanking God. Continued...

Well Here is the second half of my  mom’s and my crazy adventure:) My brother   came into the car dealership.  I have never felt so relieved in my life, seeing my brother come in that waiting room, that I have become so well aquanted with, was a blessing, it felt like our hero had finally showed up to save my mom and me.   I went out to his car and crawled in.   My baby girl niece was sleeping in her carseat.  She was like a little angel cheering up my crazy little world.  My brother came out to the car, we drove around to the back of the car dealership where our crushed van was sitting.  My mom and my brother moved our luggage from the van into My brothers car.   My mom and brother got into the car, the car started, we were moving, for the first time since 10:30 that morning we were moving , gratid we were going the oposite direction we wanted to go, but we were moving.  Our plan was to rush from Grenada Mississippi back to Mephis Arkasas, were my mom was going to renew her licens

Well, I should be hugging my brother right now, and packing up his stuff from college to bring him home for the Christmas holidays.  But that is not what I am doing, in fact I couldn't be doing anything further from that.:-)     I am sitting in a car dealership in Grenada Mississippi.  My Mom and I have been sitting here since 12:00 noon today.     So here's what happened...   I was sleeping soundly in the passenger seat, my Mom was driving, when all the sudden there was a scrachy bang, kinda like running over a large rock (which is what I thought had happened when I was still half asleep).  I muttered "what happened?"  my mom said that we hit a dear, I sat up, but didn't completly wake up since the car was still moving, so I laid back, then I noticed we were pulling off the road. so I turned over and asked my mom what we were doing, she was atempting to pull the keys out of the ignition, they were stuck, which wasn't uncomin for me since the keys often

Proverbs 30:8-9

    8) Remove far from me vanity and lies: give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with food convenient for me:     9) Lest I be full, and deny thee, and say, who is the L ORD ?  or lest I be poor, and steal, and take the name of my God in vain.   Proverbs 30:8~9       What Solomon is asking God for here, is something every Christian should be praying for. "Remove far from me vanities and lies,"  Vanities and lies, something every one struggles with, especially teenage girls.  girls want to look their best, and pretty themselves up, and that is good, but the mindset of this world today, is telling us everyday that beauty and self is everything, and it's not.  Vain thoughts, that is not necessarily only talking about thinking your beautiful, it is also talking about idle thoughts, thoughts that aren't important.  I struggle with having idle thoughts all the time, and it's OK to day dream sometimes, but when it becomes distracting to your normal duties, th

Psalm 100:4

Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise:  be thankful unto Him, and bless His name.   Psalm 100:4      I was on facebook, just scrolling through all the different posts, when I noticed this post my Granny had made. She had posted Psalm 100:4.  Seeing this verse was a reminder for me that I have to be thankful at all times, for everything, all the good things, and the not so good things.  I had been pretty bummed most of today, I was upset that my three older brothers and sister in law wouldn't be able to be at our house for Thanksgiving Dinner, Then I read this verse, and I realized that I need to thank God for the family I do have home for Thanksgiving, and be Thankful for everything.  So I wanted to post some things I am especially thankful for: ~I am Thankful that My oldest brother has a wonderful wife and a beautiful baby girl. ~I am Thankful that my next oldest brother is able to serve our Country, and that he is safe, and that he wasn&

Psalm 118:24

This is the day which the L ORD  hath made; We will rejoice and be glad in it.   And what a wonderful day it is in the Arkansas Ozarks! Blue sky's, sun is shining, 50deg, with wind at 16 miles per hour. Yes, today is great! I am so EXCITED about Thanksgiving!  The Holiday season is my favorite time of the year!  it's just something in the air I guess (I know that sounds kinda cheesy, but hey, it's true!).  The excitement of seeing your family after them being gone all Summer, the fun of shopping for a gift that your sibling or friend will love (while still trying to stay in your price range;-) ).  Also getting to practice your Christmas songs on the Piano, and singing Christmas songs all day!  I just LOVE the holidays! Anyways:-) I have a lot that will be going on in the next month, so I will try to post:-) I found out Friday, that... (pause for dramatic effect) ...  I Won!!! YAY!!! in the essay contest that I posted about on Veterans day:-)  I will be going in for

Blogger Award

Image
Hey Everyone! My friend Ashley awarded me a blogger recognition award:-) I am suposed to write a little on why I have a blog, and nominate some other people for the award, (I am suposed to nominate 15 people, but I don't know of that many blogs:-) )       I started my blog in August of 2014.  At first the blog was just because I love to write, and I thought writing on a blog would be fun:-)  I had already writen several papers on Proverbs 31, so I posted those.  I started to feel closer to God when I posted, cause the blog was, for lack of a better word, "forcing", me to study my Bible, and think about it so that I could have something to write about it, and I really love my Bible more now:-)   I want to encourage people to love God, and do His will. And that is basically why I write:-) Now people that I will nominate some people:  I nominate Cheyanne Harris at  Sweet ModesTea  , Chelsy Bontrager at  It's A Beautiful Life  , The Bontrager family at  Bontrager

Thank You Veterans!

Image
Today is Veterans Day, and I want to thank all our Veterans for serving, and protecting our freedom! :-)   I competed in a essay thing with the VFW, they had me write a paper on Why veterans are important in our Nations History and Future.  So I thought my essay paper would be a great blog post for today:-) Be sure to thank your Veterans today!:-) Why Veterans are Important to Our Nations History and Future              United States Veterans, they have fought our nations battles and defended our country’s citizens and their rights and freedoms.  But are they important in our past?  and how are they going to be important in our future?  Many people are forgetting, or have forgotten, what part our Veterans have to play in our country. I want to tell you why I think they are so important in our country.  1776, the very first American Veterans.  These men fought for our land, to keep it.  They wanted to be free, to worship God freely, to be a free people, governed by t

Psalm 107:1-2

vs.1. O give thanks unto the L ORD , for He is good: for His mercy endureth forever. vs.2. Let the redeemed of the L ORD  say so, whom He hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy   Psalm 107:1-2      This verse couldn't be more true! "give thanks to the LORD for He is good, for His mercy endureth forever."  God is SO amazingly good!  and He has done so much for me in my life! vs.2. says, "let the redeemed of the LORD say so"  I am a redeemed child of God, and I want to say how thankful I am!      First and foremost I thank Jesus for dying on the cross so that I could be saved.  I want to thank God & my founding fathers for this Amazing Country! I just Love my Country so much!  I also want to thank my Dad, Mom, and Brother, for all three serving our Country, in the United States Marine Corps.  And I would like to say "Happy Birthday!" to the United States Marine Corps 239th Birthday! and happy Birthday to all those who have served in the Marine

Psalm 135:1-3 ~ Praise Ye the LORD

Image
1)  Praise Ye the LORD.  Praise ye the name of the LORD;  praise Him, O ye servants of the LORD. 2)  Ye that stand in the house of the LORD,  in the courts of the house of our God, 3)  Praise the LORD;  for the LORD is good:  sing praises unto His name;  for it is pleasant.          Psalm 135:1-3   I love the first four words "Praise ye the LORD."  period, that's it, there is nothing to go with it, no add-ons, nothing, just 'Praise ye the LORD."  and a period after it.  I don't know why, but I just love that period, it says, that there is nothing else to go with praising the LORD, you do not love the LORD conditionally, only when he is good, or doubting Him sometimes, but praising Him most of the time.  That period means, that God is always good, and we are to praise Him at all times! And I find that very... very, amazing!:-)   It says in verse 3 that we should "Praise the LORD; for the LORD is good;"  Bad things happen, but bad things do

God is Good! :-)

God is so good!  We all had a great time in Florida with my brothers. We didn't have any problems, We all got to be together again for the weekend, and it was all together a terrific weekend!   We got into Florida about 5pm Friday night, we went to the Navel Air Station to pick up one of my brothers, it was so good to see him!  Then we all headed out to Pensacola Christian College to pick up my other brother and his 3 roommates, so that we could all go to Pizza Hut for dinner:-)  And we had a blast at Pizza Hut! it was so much fun to hang out with my brothers, and Micah's roommates.  Then on Saturday We picked up both thee boys in the morning.  We went shopping on the Navel base, and then we went back to our motel and went swimming, then we went to the College and played in the Sports center for a couple hours:-)  On Sunday we all went to the Campus Church, the Service Was Amazing!  It was so good to hear a good Sermon to tie off our visit!:-)   And the Choir at the Colle

II Corinthians 12:9

Hey everyone :-)  Sorry it's been so long since I've posted.  I have been busy with school, and other stuff, but I have an idea for a new study, I think it will be good :-)   Here is a post I wrote a little while ago :-) "And he said unto me , My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness . Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me."    - II Corinthians 12:9           Jesus said, "For my strength is made perfect in weakness."  And Paul replies with, "Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest on me."  What is being said here is this; when we are weak, hurt, at the very lowest,   that  is when Jesus strength is made perfect.  When you’re down, because someone has betrayed you, or maybe you lost someone, and you fall, you are hurt and just want to give up, that’s when Jesus's strength wil

II Corinthians 4:4

Image
"In whom the gods of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gosple of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them."       II Corinthians 4:4       This verse is such an eye opener.  It is saying "that the gods of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gosple of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them."  The gods of this world, that would be things that people put over god, like T.V., Carnal music, sometimes science, and sometimes even other people.  The devil uses these thing to blind the people of this worl, so that they can't see the light of Christ.  The divil is trying to hide Gods light under a bushel, but Gods light is more powerful than the devil, His light can shine throught the bushel of sin, and false gods that the devil has created.  It is our job as Christians to shine Gods light.  How is the world suppo

How Does A Girl Know?

Hey everyone, these are notes I took in Sunday school class several weeks ago, as I was taking the notes, I was thinking "hey, this would make a good blog post!" so here it is :-)   "How Does a Girl Know the Will of God Concerning the Man she is to Marry?" 1) She honors God in her youth. 1 Corinthians 7:34  - establish your relationship with God now before you get married.  -You are to love God more than your spouse. 2) She is open to counsel. Proverbs 11:14  - take heed to other peoples counsel about the guy your interested in. Proverbs 12:15 3) She proves herself hardworking. Proverbs 31:13 - learn to organize, and keep your house clean. - learn to follow through on things you start. 4) She prays for wisdom. James 1:5 - Ask God for wisdom. 5) She prays for those in authority over her. 1 Timothy 2:1-2 - When you pray for those in authority over you, it will make things go more peacefully for you. 6) She waits with Joyful Patience. Exodus 2:23-25

Image
 - And it came to pass in process of time, that the king of Egypt died:  and the children of Israel sighed by reason of bondage, and they cried, and their cry came unto God by reason of the bondage.  - And God heard their groaning, and God remembered His covenant with Isaac, and with Jacob.  - And God looked upon the children of Israel and God had respect unto them.      - Exodus 2:23-25       These verses are a real encouragement to me.  It has reminded me, that God is near, and a very present  help in trouble!  I have to admit, I get discouraged, and scared, I get afraid that God can't hear me, I sometimes feel like, maybe I've don't something, and now God will never here me again.  Then I read these verses.  The Israelites lifted up their voices, they cried for Gods help, and you know what it says next? It says that, "God remembered His covenant with Isaac, and with Jacob. And God looked  upon the children of Isral, and God had respect unto them."  God has

Live Your Life for GOD, Not Man

Image
My pastor was preaching, either a Sunday or Wednesday, and he said that there are many Christians, who have the potential to do so much for God, but, they don't.  We are always looking around us, comparing our lives with the people. We think to ourselves, "hey, I'm doing pretty good, at least I'm doing better then him or her" and we stop thinking about living our lives for God, and we only think about comparing ourselves with others.  He also said that there are many of us who start getting spiritually ahead of others around us, then we look around us, and then slow down, so that others don't judge you.  How sad is it, that we are afraid to be too spiritual, even in our own churches.  I have always been the type of person that doesn't want to offend anyone, I keep keep quiet, even when I know something someone is saying is wrong, I compare myself with other people, trying to measure up to the worlds standards of beauty.  Well, I am not on this earth to

More on the Virtuous woman

Image
You know how we read about the virtuous woman, and the verse that says "who can find a virtuous woman for her price is far above rubies " (Proverbs 31:10).  I have often gotten discouraged, wondering how I can ever be considered "far above rubies."  I can do all the things she does, garden, cook, clean.  But, is this really what makes Her so special, all her good works, her great attitude? I thought it was.   I was in church last Wednesday, and my pastor was preaching about Measuring spiritual growth.  One of the scriptures he read was Job 28:18 - "No mention shall be made of coral, or of pearls: for the price of wisdom is far above rubies ."  When I heard that verse I was like "hey, that's what the Bible says about the virtuous woman,".  so it got me thinking, that what if the virtuous woman is considered a virtuous woman, and so special, not because of her special talents, but because of her Wisdom.  So, I pulled out my concordance (I lo

Proverbs 31 study, part 7

Vs.28.  Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and her praiseth her. Vs.29.  Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excelest them all. Vs.30.  Favor is deceitful, beauty is vain, but a woman that feareth the L ORD , she shall be praised. Vs.31.  Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her works praise her in the gates.     Proverbs 31:28-31 I love vs.28, "her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, he praiseth her."  I hope and pray, that one day if I ever marry, that my children will rise up and call me blessed, and that my husband would praise me.  I wonder if the virtuous woman was a real person. It says in verse 29 that "Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou  excellest them all."  What if the proverbs 31 lady was a real person, how amazing would it be to meet her! I could probably sit and listen to her words of wisdom all day!:)   I need to read this verse every day, as a constant reminder, that eve

Prayer Request

Hey everyone, Please pray for a little girl that used to go to our church. She is about 4 or 5, her name is Savanna.  Her colon stopped working, and they said her skin is a bad color, she is in the hospital.   Please pray that God would heal her! God has all His children in His hands -Anna

Proverbs 31 study, Part 6

Vs.25.  Strength and honor are in her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come, Vs.26.  She openeth her mouth with wisdom, and in her tongue is the law of kindness. Vs.27.  She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.     Proverbs 31:25-27 "Strength and honor are in her clothing."  I think think this may be figurative speaking, I believe what is being said here, is that she is strong, confident, and she has honor, she does not do things to shame herself, such as wearing low cut shirts that show off herself, or tight, short skirts that shape her figure.  God wants us women to dress like a lady.     .  In verse 26 I read that "She openeth her mouth with wisdom,  and in her tongue is the law of kindness."  I pray to God to please help me in this area of my life, I want to be good big sister, and be wise in my charge over my little siblings, and kind in my words.  Finally I see in verse 27 what I have seen in the verse

Proverbs 31 study, Part 5

Vs.23.  Her husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth among the elders of the land. Vs.24.  She maketh fine linen and selleth it; and delivereth girdles to the merchant.   Proverbs 31:23-24      In verse 23, it says that, "her husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth among the elders of the land."  We read in the scriptures several times, that men who sit in the gates are the important men, so the virtuous woman's husband was an important man. She probably helped him to get to his highly esteemed position, by supporting him, and honoring him, by always speaking highly of him to other people, never pointing out his faults.  And he had enough trust in her, that he could be gone for long hours, sitting and talking, and not having to worry about his wife.  It says in verse 24 that she made things and sold them.  Maybe she gave the money to her husband, to use as he wished, or maybe she used the money to help other people, we can't be sure.  I pray that one

Proverbs 31 study, part 4

Vs.20.  She stretcheth forth her hands to the poor yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy. Vs.21.  She is not afraid of the snow for her household for all her household are clothed with scarlet. Vs.22.  She maketh herself coverings of tapestry, her clothing is silk and purple.    Proverbs 31:20-22      I see here in verse 20 that she gave, and took care of the poor. She did not look down on those who were less fortunate than her. I believe she loved everyone, just as Christ commands us to in John 15:9 - "As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love."  my prayer to God is that we could all learn to love people, no matter who they are.  I see in vs. 21-22 that she could sow, and always bought the best material, so that she could keep her family warm in the winter. I think that even if they didn't have a fire place in the house, they could still stay warm, because she worked hard to make the very best and warmest clothes.   that c

Proverbs 31 study, Part 3

Vs.17.  She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms. Vs.18.  She percieveth that merchandise is good: her candle goeth not out by night. Vs.19.  She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff.  Proverbs 31:17-19      These verses are a little harder for me to understand.  vs.17. says that "she girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms." I believe this means that she wasn't a delicate little flower that just sat there looking pretty, She was strong, and she worked hard, I guess this means that God wants us ladies to strengthen our arms, stay fit, so that we can take care of ourselves, if we need to:)  vs.18.  It says that "she perceiveth that merchandise is good, her candle goeth not our by night."  She knew how to shop, she didn't necessarily use as little money as possible, but she bought good things, that would last a long time, saving money in the long run, this is the second time using mone

Welcome to my Blog! :-)

Image
Hello! I am Anna. I love to read the Bible, and I love to write (though I must warn you, my spelling and grammar is sad), and I love to write about what I read in the Bible! I have never done anything like this Blog before, it is a huge leap of faith for me, so please bear with me while I get the hang of this.    Let me tell you a little something about myself.  I am a teenage girl growing up in a small town in Arkansas. I love to play volleyball at church with my friends. I go to an Independent Baptist Church. My church (and I) believe that the King James Bible is the one true Bible, we believe in no alcohol, no drugs, no homosexuality, and a godly courtship between one man and one woman before marriage, and purity until marriage. I don't meant to offend anyone, but I want everyone to know where I stand. I love to play the piano, hymns are my favorite pieces to play. Music is SO important to me.  I believe music controls the way you think, feel, and act, and I believe if you

Proverbs 31 study, Part 2

Vs.14.  She is like the merchants ship; she bringeth food from afar. Vs.15.  She riseth while it is yet night and giveth meat to her household, even a portion to her maidens. Vs.16.  She considereth a field and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard.  Proverbs 31:14-16   I read here, that she only gets the best for her family, even if she has to go far off to find it. And she is a cook, she rises early to probably prepare food for the men before they leave for work for the day. And she takes care of her servants.  I also notice that she is wise with her money. she doesn't just go around buying anything that she likes, she "considereth a field and buyeth it."  She thinks out a purchase, and weighs her options, so that she gets the best deal.  and... one of my least favorite, she is a gardener. I guess I have always disliked gardening, I have always hated bugs, and there tend to be bugs in a garden:) but I guess God intended us to eat the fru

Proverbs 31 study, Part 1

vs.10. Who can find a virtuous woman for her price is far above rubies. vs.11. The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her so that he shall have no need of spoil. vs.12. She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life. vs.13. She seeketh wool and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands.   Proverbs 31:10-13 Lets stop there for today, and think about these verses.  It says in verse 10 of proverbs 31, that a virtuous woman's price is far above rubies! now whenever we think about that, I think we tend to think "yeah, a virtuous woman is really precious."  But how much have you really thought about her. "Her price is far above rubies."  People in this day and age like to compete, to see who has the most money, and get to earn the title "richest 'man' or 'woman'" on earth. But, if you think about it, what God is saying, is that a virtuous woman is worth more than all the riches on earth!making a virtuous woman the ri

Nehemiah 9:6

"Thou, even thou, art L ORD  alone; thou hast made heaven, the heaven of heavens, with all their host, the earth, and all things that are therein, and thou perservest them all; and the host of heaven worshippeth thee." -Nehemiah 9:6       Oh how true this verse is, but oh how little thanks we really give to God!  We give thanks to great scientists, such as Albert Einstein, and Thomas Edison, two of our greatest scientists. We give memorials to our war heroes, those who have bled and died for us so that we might live safely in our homes. We honor our founding fathers, Ben Franklin, George Washington, and many others.  But what thanks is our country giving to God?  We make sodomy legal. We drink till we are drunken, and put harmful drugs into our bodies.  All these things go directly against Gods directions. And how does disobeying Gods will show thanks? It doesn't.  I mean, you don't show thanks to your mom by not cleaning your room when she asks you to, or by
