II Corinthians 12:9

Hey everyone :-)  Sorry it's been so long since I've posted.  I have been busy with school, and other stuff, but I have an idea for a new study, I think it will be good :-)   Here is a post I wrote a little while ago :-) "And he said unto me , My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness . Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me."    - II Corinthians 12:9           Jesus said, "For my strength is made perfect in weakness."  And Paul replies with, "Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest on me."  What is being said here is this; when we are weak, hurt, at the very lowest,   that  is when Jesus strength is made perfect.  When you’re down, because someone has betrayed you, or maybe you lost someone, and you fall, you are hurt and just want to give up, that’s when Jesus's strength wil

II Corinthians 4:4

Image
"In whom the gods of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gosple of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them."       II Corinthians 4:4       This verse is such an eye opener.  It is saying "that the gods of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gosple of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them."  The gods of this world, that would be things that people put over god, like T.V., Carnal music, sometimes science, and sometimes even other people.  The devil uses these thing to blind the people of this worl, so that they can't see the light of Christ.  The divil is trying to hide Gods light under a bushel, but Gods light is more powerful than the devil, His light can shine throught the bushel of sin, and false gods that the devil has created.  It is our job as Christians to shine Gods light.  How is the world suppo

How Does A Girl Know?

Hey everyone, these are notes I took in Sunday school class several weeks ago, as I was taking the notes, I was thinking "hey, this would make a good blog post!" so here it is :-)   "How Does a Girl Know the Will of God Concerning the Man she is to Marry?" 1) She honors God in her youth. 1 Corinthians 7:34  - establish your relationship with God now before you get married.  -You are to love God more than your spouse. 2) She is open to counsel. Proverbs 11:14  - take heed to other peoples counsel about the guy your interested in. Proverbs 12:15 3) She proves herself hardworking. Proverbs 31:13 - learn to organize, and keep your house clean. - learn to follow through on things you start. 4) She prays for wisdom. James 1:5 - Ask God for wisdom. 5) She prays for those in authority over her. 1 Timothy 2:1-2 - When you pray for those in authority over you, it will make things go more peacefully for you. 6) She waits with Joyful Patience. Exodus 2:23-25

 - And it came to pass in process of time, that the king of Egypt died:  and the children of Israel sighed by reason of bondage, and they cried, and their cry came unto God by reason of the bondage.  - And God heard their groaning, and God remembered His covenant with Isaac, and with Jacob.  - And God looked upon the children of Israel and God had respect unto them.      - Exodus 2:23-25       These verses are a real encouragement to me.  It has reminded me, that God is near, and a very present  help in trouble!  I have to admit, I get discouraged, and scared, I get afraid that God can't hear me, I sometimes feel like, maybe I've don't something, and now God will never here me again.  Then I read these verses.  The Israelites lifted up their voices, they cried for Gods help, and you know what it says next? It says that, "God remembered His covenant with Isaac, and with Jacob. And God looked  upon the children of Isral, and God had respect unto them."  God has

Live Your Life for GOD, Not Man

Image
My pastor was preaching, either a Sunday or Wednesday, and he said that there are many Christians, who have the potential to do so much for God, but, they don't.  We are always looking around us, comparing our lives with the people. We think to ourselves, "hey, I'm doing pretty good, at least I'm doing better then him or her" and we stop thinking about living our lives for God, and we only think about comparing ourselves with others.  He also said that there are many of us who start getting spiritually ahead of others around us, then we look around us, and then slow down, so that others don't judge you.  How sad is it, that we are afraid to be too spiritual, even in our own churches.  I have always been the type of person that doesn't want to offend anyone, I keep keep quiet, even when I know something someone is saying is wrong, I compare myself with other people, trying to measure up to the worlds standards of beauty.  Well, I am not on this earth to

More on the Virtuous woman

Image
You know how we read about the virtuous woman, and the verse that says "who can find a virtuous woman for her price is far above rubies " (Proverbs 31:10).  I have often gotten discouraged, wondering how I can ever be considered "far above rubies."  I can do all the things she does, garden, cook, clean.  But, is this really what makes Her so special, all her good works, her great attitude? I thought it was.   I was in church last Wednesday, and my pastor was preaching about Measuring spiritual growth.  One of the scriptures he read was Job 28:18 - "No mention shall be made of coral, or of pearls: for the price of wisdom is far above rubies ."  When I heard that verse I was like "hey, that's what the Bible says about the virtuous woman,".  so it got me thinking, that what if the virtuous woman is considered a virtuous woman, and so special, not because of her special talents, but because of her Wisdom.  So, I pulled out my concordance (I lo
